Maa Tara Temple
Sadhak Bamakhepa, also known as the avadhuta or "mad saint", is renowned in Tarapith where he worshipped in the temple and resided in the cremation grounds. He lived the life of a mendicant and dedicated himself to practicing and perfecting yoga and the tantric arts under the guidance of Kailashpathi Baba, another famous saint. Bamakhepa devoted his entire life to worshiping Tara Maa and even had his ashram located on the bank of the Dwaraka River close to the Tara temple.
Tarapith Maha Sasan
Tarapith Maha Sasan is a convenient location close to the Tarapith Temple. It's well-known for the Tantric practices that take place here. Goddess Tara, a fearsome Tantric aspect of Adhya-Shakti, appears here as a twinkling of light, like a "Star" (Tara in Hindi's meaning Sanskrit, Bengali, and other languages). The Third Eye of "Sati" had fallen here. It is remembered as one of "Sati's" 52 Peeths (places where parts of her dead body had fallen), a location with many spiritual and extraordinary forces.
Birchandrapur Temple
Birchandrapur is famous for being the birthplace of Nityananda Swami, co-founder of the Baisnav religion with Shri Chityanyadev 10 kilometers from the Tarapith. Birchandrapur, named after Birbhadra Goswami, Nityananda's son, is a part of the village Ekachakra, which was once home to the Pandavas, according to legend. The 'Akali mandir' is located 25 kilometers from Bhadrapur in Akalipur.
Mallarpur Shiv Temple
Mallarpur Shiv Temple is one of Birbhum District's oldest mandirs. It is 2 kilometers from Mallarpur Rail Station in Mallarpur village. The temple was once surrounded by a thicket of trees. Malla Raj, a devout monarch, later founded the temple in 1192. The main temple is surrounded by 21 temples, with a holy pond on the temple's eastern side. It's about 10-12 kilometers from Tarapith.
Nalhateshwari Temple
This is a lovely location with magnificent surroundings and plateaus all around it. Maa Nalateswri resides and resembles the Kamakha and Kalighat pithas. Maa Nalateswri, also known as Maa or "Bhagobidhata-Nalateswri" or Devi Parvati or Kalika, is the place's goddess.
Bamakhyapa Temple
It is a pink-colored temple dedicated to Saint Bamakhyapa. Bamakhyapa, also known as the Crazy Saint, was a popular Tantrik known for his divine craziness. Outside the temple, there is a tomb and samadhi where people pray and give offerings in the saint's name.
